Natural pH Buffer.

PF Coral Chips Grade B are natural coral chips suitable for some aquarium filtration and water conditioning. Coral chips can help increase water hardness and buffer pH, making them useful for aquariums that require more alkaline, mineral-rich water. Their porous, irregular structure provides surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonise, helping support biological filtration.

Features

  • Natural Coral Chips: Natural coral-based media for aquarium use.
  • Helps Buffer pH: Can help maintain a more alkaline, stable pH by gradually releasing minerals into the water.
  • Biological Filtration Support: Provides surface area for beneficial bacteria to grow and help break down fish waste.
  • Supports Water Hardness: Helps increase carbonate hardness (KH) and general hardness (GH), depending on water conditions.
  • Versatile Application: Suitable for use in filter media bags, canister filters, sump filters and other compatible filtration systems.
  • Convenient Mesh Bag: Supplied in a mesh bag for easy placement and removal during filter maintenance.

Specifications

  • Grade: Grade B
  • Net Weight: 1KG
  • Material: Natural coral chips
  • Packaging: Sealed bag with mesh media bag inside

Suitable For

  • Freshwater aquariums requiring higher pH or mineral hardness
  • Freshwater aquariums where pH is low and needs to be raised
  • African cichlid aquariums that benefit from harder, more alkaline water
  • Marine aquarium filtration, where compatible with the system's filtration requirements
  • Canister filters, sump filters and other suitable filter systems

Usage Instructions

  1. Rinse the coral chips thoroughly with clean water before use to remove loose dust and debris.
  2. Place the mesh bag inside a suitable filter compartment where water can flow through it.
  3. Monitor pH, KH and GH regularly, as the effect of coral chips varies with water chemistry, quantity used and water flow.
  4. Adjust the amount of coral chips according to your aquarium's requirements.
  5. Inspect the media periodically and rinse gently with removed aquarium water when necessary.

Important: Coral chips can raise pH and water hardness. Test your water parameters before and after use, and avoid sudden changes, especially in aquariums housing sensitive fish or invertebrates.
