Blue coarse filter wool acts as your aquarium’s first line of defense, serving as a durable pre-filter that traps large, heavy debris like uneaten food and plant waste without slowing down the water flow. Because it features large, wide-open pores, it clogs slowly, can be easily rinsed and reused multiple times, and provides a great surface area for beneficial bacteria to grow.

Fine white filter wool functions as a final water polisher, using tightly packed, dense polyester fibers to catch microscopic particles and floating dust that coarser media miss. Placed late in the filtration process to prevent it from clogging instantly, it delivers crystal-clear water transparency but requires frequent replacement as it rapidly fills up with fine organic gunk.
